For the second consecutive year the Neva Foundation sponsored an event in the framework of Geneva’s “Fête de la Musique”. After “The New Babylone” in 2009, in 2010 it chose a new project of Gleb Skvortsov, a genevese conductor born in Saint-Petersbourg.
The instrumental ensemble la Camerata Venia, formed by Mr Skvortsov with a group of young romand musicians, will perform Franz Schubert’s “the Young Girl and Death”. This quatuor for strings in re minor was written by seriously ill Schubert in March 1824, and later arranged by Gustav Mahler. This work represents the summit of all romantic reperory.
