On the occasion of the 19th edition of the Verbier Festival, its prestigious Academy invited 33 best musicians selected among more than 200 young talents coming from all over the world. They received three weeks of training with the most famous classical music artists. For the second year running, the Neva Foundation was happy to give an opportunity to these young artists to take part in daily masterclasseses and chamber music workshops.

In 2012 the countries of the former Soviet Union were represented by five young musicians: Anna Fiodorova (piano), Antonina Zharova (cello), Anastasia Kobekina (cello), Nadir Khashimov (violin) and Georgy Kovalev (viola) who returned to Verbier after his success there in 2011.

"Thanks to the Festival and to the support of the Neva Foundation I had the possibility to study with one of the greatest teachers in the world Nobuko Imai, who invited me to study in Geneva with her after the masterclass in Verbier", writes to us Georgy Kovalev. The Neva Foundation is particularly happy that the Verbier Festival launches the international career of these promising musicians, helps them to improve their skills and to be discovered by music professionals.

The Neva Foundation Award was given to Anna Fiodorova and Anastasia Kobekina at the end of the Verbier Festival Academy.
