This year, the Neva Foundation gives to the french-speaking public the opportunity to view a masterpiece of the Russian repertoire : Eugene Oneguin, a remake of the Metropolitan Opera of New York, with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande conducted by Michail Jurowski and the choral of the Grand Théâtre de Genève.
The most famous Tchaikovsky's opera interprets the first novel in verse of the history composed by Alexander Pushkin. Played in three acts and seven tableaux, this masterpiece is a must-seen of the classical Russian culture.
Eugen Oneguin is a young lazy and bored dandy living on an inheritance. Tatiana falls in love with him at first sight but Oneguin rejects her. A few years later in Saint Petersburg, Oneguin goes to a cocktail and this time falls in love with Tatiana. Too late, she is already married...
