The two winners of the Neva prize 2015 are Karolina Errera and Olena Tokar.
Karolina Errera: Russian violist, studying in Berlin. Born in 1993 in Moscow in a unique Family: Russian Mother and Dominican Father. At the age of 5, she entered the Central Music School of Moscow. After school, she moved to Berlin, which was a life changing experience.
She has been a member of the Verbier orchestra for the last two years and is now at the age of 22 at the level of the Academy. She was the best viola player in the group, remarkably talented.
Olena Tokar is a talented and versatile soprano. Born in Ukraine, she has won many significant awards including the Grand Prize at the International Gmyrya Competition in Kiev (2008). She was a finalist in the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition (2013) and she is a member of the prestigious BBC New Generation Artist scheme in London. Exciting future performances include Carmina Burana at the BBC Proms, Mozart’s Exsultate Jubilate with the Ulster Orchestra and debuting as Susanna in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro at the Leipzig Opera.
