Following the success of the last year's chess season, Neva Foundation, in partnership with the Department of Culture of Geneva, continues and extends its commitment to teach chess during school time.
Indeed, the appraisal report accomplished by the Department of Culture of Geneva, qualified and quantified many beneficial effects and competences acquired by the children having participated in the programme of Neva Foundation (transverse capacities, notions of space, geometry, reflexion, communication, etc.).
This year, 17 schools were chosen and more than 1300 children participate in our programme «Tous aux Echecs», which is 4 times more than during the first season.
The Russian international chess grandmaster and former World champion Vladimir Kramnik continues his commitment enthusiastically by backing this programme and will get involved, like last year, during events organized during the school season.
For this new season, Neva Foundation edits two textbooks, one devoted to the "Beginner level" as well as an "Advanced level" for the pupils having already benefited from our activity before. New essential topics will be discovered to increase their chess knowledge.
Once again, many school tournaments will be set up at the beginning of 2016 and lead to the big Tournament School Final regrouping the best pupils of each establishment.
