Neva Foundation continues teaching chess in school time in collaboration with the Department of Public Education, launched since 2014 in the schools of the canton of Geneva.
Coming from chess professional environment, University of Geneva and the Association of students in primary education, Neva Foundation's teachers combine professional experience and pedagogical expertise and transfer their knowledge to children discover the game in a playful way while acquiring school skills.
Some figures on the 2017-18 season:
- 1'220 children
- 16 schools involved in the program
- Nearly 65 teachers from the Department of Public Education involved
- More than 600 chessboards and 1'200 books distributed
The novelty of this season will be the redesigned formula of the end-of-year event, proposing activities as well as tournaments with strong Grand Masters Internationa. Qualifications will be held during the year inside schools.
Continuing its commitment to youth, Neva Foundation contributes to the transmission of knowledge and fundamental values to the new generation.
